Therapies a Provider May Consider

Every option is reviewed individually after your history, current care, and goals are understood.

Start With an Assessment

Every visit begins with a consultation and a medical screening. A licensed provider decides what, if anything, is appropriate for you.

Who manages these conditions, and where a consultation fits

Metabolic conditions are identified and followed through measurements and laboratory testing, and the physician who orders them owns the care plan. A consultation here reviews that plan alongside its results; it never replaces it.

  • Your physician – manages type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome through laboratory monitoring, nutrition and activity planning, risk-factor management and prescribed medication when needed. We do not change diabetes medication or advise stopping established care, and anyone taking insulin or another medication that can cause low blood sugar says so at the intake call.
  • Gastroenterologist or hepatologist – diagnoses and monitors fatty liver disease, which overlaps with weight, diabetes, cholesterol and cardiovascular risk and has its own page under Longevity and Vitality.

Bring your most recent HbA1c, a lipid panel, a fasting glucose, recent blood pressure readings, your waist measurement and your current medication list, because these conditions are defined by numbers. A licensed provider reviews them with your goals before discussing any supportive option. Established care in this area is well supported, and nothing here replaces blood pressure, glucose, lipid or cardiovascular care.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, and we will not discuss stopping or reducing any prescribed medication. That decision belongs to the clinician who prescribed it. Nothing discussed here is FDA approved to treat type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance.
Recent laboratory results, your medication list, blood pressure readings if you track them, and the name of the physician currently managing your care. Without recent results the provider may suggest completing testing with that physician first.
Yes, and it is one of the two conditions this care area is written for. The consultation reviews the individual findings, what is being monitored, and whether any supportive assessment is reasonable alongside the care you already have.
No. Nutrition, physical activity and risk factor management remain the established foundation and nothing discussed here substitutes for them. A consultation is likely to point you back towards them.
No. This care area is about how the body regulates blood sugar, insulin, blood pressure and blood fats, and about the medical monitoring that goes with it. Your existing treatment and follow-up continue unchanged.
Not necessarily. A consultation does not guarantee that anything will be recommended, and individual experiences vary. The provider explains benefits, limitations, risks and alternatives before any decision is made.
